On 29 September, the Kalmar Growth Council visited Linnaeus University to gain further insight into the university’s activities and its work in innovation, entrepreneurship and the utilisation of research.
The Growth Council brings together around 20 entrepreneurs and business leaders from across Kalmar’s business community, contributing a business perspective on issues related to Kalmar’s development and business climate.
During the visit, participants were given a tour of the university and an introduction to Linnaeus University’s activities. Evelina Mikaelson, CEO of Linnaeus Venture and a member of the Growth Council, also presented the holding company’s mission and its work to invest in and develop research-based companies.
The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss how academia and industry can work together to create better conditions for innovation, entrepreneurship and regional growth.
For Linnaeus Venture, close dialogue with industry is an important part of creating stronger connections between research, entrepreneurship, capital and the market.
