How can we create better conditions for research to move beyond academia and contribute to innovation, growth, and societal impact? This was the theme when Evelina Mikaelson, CEO of Linnaeus University Development AB, led a workshop during this spring’s Gate Research Day.
The workshop focused on the often critical transition between research and application — and on the need to translate academic results into business and societal contexts.
“The greatest risk is often not the technology itself, but what gets lost in the translation between research and practice,” says Evelina Mikaelson.
Linnaeus University Development AB is the holding company of Linnaeus University and works to support the development of research-based innovations through business development, strategic support, and early-stage investments.
Gate Research Day brought together researchers, innovation stakeholders, and industry representatives to discuss the future of knowledge-driven innovation and sustainable growth.
