Day Break – a new meeting place for ideas, entrepreneurship and capital

On September 4, the first edition of Day Break took place at VIDA Museum on Öland – a new meeting place bringing together investors, entrepreneurs and academia around ideas, capital and new perspectives.

Day Break grew out of a joint initiative by Linnaeus Venture, LNU Innovation, Kalmar Science Park, Växjö Linnæus Science Park and Investerare Sydost. The ambition is to create more opportunities for entrepreneurs and research-based ideas to access capital, experience and relevant networks in southeastern Sweden.

Throughout the day, entrepreneurs and companies presented their ideas through short pitches and dialogues. The programme also featured conversations on investment, entrepreneurship and creativity.

Among the participants was Lisen Oliw, Investment Partner at BackingMinds, who joined CemVision for a conversation about bold capital meeting new ideas. Björn Ulvaeus and Ingmarie Halling from Pophouse Entertainment also took part in a conversation on creativity and entrepreneurship.

“As an early-stage investor, our role is about more than providing capital. We also want to help companies gain access to experience, expertise and relevant networks that can help them develop and take the next step. Day Break is a way of creating more opportunities for these connections to happen,” says Evelina Mikaelson, CEO of Linnaeus Venture.
