Strategic investment in Re:Mine AB – circular technology for the resource recovery of the future

Linnaeus Venture AB, together with Almi Invest, is making a strategic investment in Re:Mine AB to accelerate the development of a unique biotechnological process for circular resource recovery.

Re:Mine AB is a research-based spinout from Linnaeus University that has developed a process to recover magnesium – a raw material of high strategic value – from mining and industrial waste. The process simultaneously generates a by-product that can be used for environmentally friendly cement, creating a fully circular system without solid waste.

Through the investment from Linnaeus Venture and Almi Invest, Re:Mine will be able to further develop its process and strengthen its position ahead of future industrial collaborations and market introduction.

– As the university’s holding company, we want to enable research results to make their way into society. Re:Mine is a strong example of how academic research can be transformed into sustainable innovations with global potential, says Evelina Mikaelson, CEO of Linnaeus Venture.
